One of the better agencies in town, All Patagonia Viajes y Turismo, Juana Fadul 60 (tel. 2901/433622; www.allpatagonia.com), is the local American Express travel representative. It acts as a clearinghouse; if they don't offer a trip themselves, they'll arrange an excursion with other outfitters. They can also reserve excursions in other destinations in Argentina and Chile. All Patagonia offers three glacier walks for those in good physical condition, impressive scenic flights over Tierra del Fuego ($80/£54 per person for 30 min.), and treks and drives in its Land Rover with nature guides. They also arrange a bus and boat trip to Harberton and the penguin colony ($75/£51 per person), and they are one of the few agencies to operate afternoon tours of the national park. It is a very good company to approach if you're not sure what you want. Canal Fun & Nature, Rivadavía 82 (tel. 2901/437395; www.canalfun.com), specializes in "unconventional tourism." It's a great company to choose if you're hankering after some hair-raising adventure. They staff excellent guides who provide 4WD trips and walks culminating with a barbecue. The company also leads kayaking and nighttime beaver-watching trips, and they'll custom-build a trip for you. They run private tours only on request. Rumbo Sur, Av. San Martín 350 (tel. 2901/422275; www.rumbosur.com.ar), and Tolkeyen Patagonia Turismo, San Martín 1267 (tel. 2901/437073; www.tolkeyenpatagonia.com), are two more-conventional operators that deal with larger groups and arrange more classic excursions, such as a city tour and guided visits to the national park and Lagos Escondido and Fagnano.
