Venecia Plaza Central
Budget travelers are usually pleasantly surprised when they arrive at the Venecia and behold this beautiful building right in the heart of town, across the plaza from the city hall (ayuntamiento). The building used to have some private apartments, but the hotel has absorbed them over the years. As a result, the 66 rooms have 11 different configurations and slightly different prices. (Views of the plaza are at a premium.) Yet the Venecia operates smoothly and efficiently, and staff tend to be friendly and knowledgeable. All but the tiniest interior rooms have minifridges.
