Camping
The Vero Beach and Sebastian areas of the Treasure Coast are popular with campers, who choose from nearly a dozen camping locations. If you aren’t camping at the scenic and popular Sebastian Inlet State Park, then try the Vero Beach Kamp RV Park, 8850 U.S. 1, Wabasso (tel. 772/589-5665). This 120-site campground is 2 miles from the ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, and a quarter mile from the Indian River, a big draw for anglers. There’s access to running water and electricity, as well as showers, a shop, and hookups for RVs. Rates range from $36 to $71 for campsites. Cabins are also available at $58 to $74 a night for two guests, and cottages are available for $67 to $87 a night for four guests. Bring your own linens.
