Restaurants in Volcan

Note: Restaurants close very early in Volcán, usually at 9pm. The Hotel Dos Ríos has a restaurant and pizzeria, and the Hotel Don Tavo has inexpensive meals. For typical Panamanian food, head to Restaurante Mary (tel. 6704-1237; Edificio Don Julio). Popular with locals, this no-frills restaurant is open 6:30 to 9pm every day. Don't expect top-notch service, but portions are big and the food is good. Polyneth specializes in Thai food and is open daily from 11am to 9pm. Aside from offering tasty dishes, there is also an interesting display of carnivorous plants here. Paul, the owner and chef, asks for a $1 (50p) donation if visiting the carnivorous plant garden.
