The conversation at check-in is all about the really good restaurants nearby, such as Le Diplomate and Doi Moi (better book restaurant reservations when you book your hotel stay). But there are plenty of other reasons to stay here: complimentary bikes, spacious guest rooms (double rooms run 300 to 425 sq. ft.; suites measure 645 sq. ft.), a rooftop pool, and the spanking-fresh newness of the property. You’re meant to hang out in the living room–like lobby, with its set-up chessboard and clusters of armchairs and rounded-armed sofas; this is the site of the complimentary wine hour each evening and coffee/tea every morning. Guest rooms are equally inviting, featuring nubby gray fabrics, pumpkin-hued accents, expansive desks, enormous 65-inch TVs, large marble bathrooms with walk-in glass showers (plenty of room for two), and a truly stacked bed.
