Located at the foot of Namdae-bong (peak) of Chiaksan (don't confuse it with the one in Odaesan by the same name), it is one of the highest temples in the country. The walls of the temple have a mural depicting the story of a man whose life was saved by a pheasant (for the full story, see this section's introduction). Hiking up the mountain from the Seongnam-ni entrance, it would take 2 to 2 1/2 hours to reach it. There are three rare cinnamon trees growing from the rocks in front of the temple.
