Hidden away in a vaulted brick cellar opposite Kamenita Vrata in Gornji Grad, this much-loved eatery seats just 40 diners. The kitchen specializes in Mediterranean cuisine with a contemporary twist. The menu changes daily, depending on the best fresh ingredients to be found at the morning market. The offerings are chalked up on a blackboard: Expect tempting dishes such as rižoto od kozica (prawn risotto) or svinjski lungić s pireom ob buće (pork tenderloin with pumpkin purée). There’s an excellent wine list, too, with most wines available by both the glass and the bottle.
