Frommer's Review
Associated with a record producer and songwriting studio (Propeller Island GmbH), this hotel occupies three high-ceilinged floors of an old-fashioned apartment house originally built in the 1880s. Each of the guest rooms is radically different in its decor and theme, and each may delight or appall you with its quirks. Therapie is an all-white, minimalist room whose mood changes with the color of the lighting, which you can adjust at will. Flying Bed places a mattress as an iconic temple at the top of an inclined ramp, giving your bed a cultish importance. And the accommodation known as Galerie features a round bed, a pedal-operated mechanism that can spin the bed on a pivot, and empty picture frames wherein you can superimpose your fantasies. Weirdest of all (and not recommended by us) is the Coffin Room, where cult freaks can sleep in either of two (well-ventilated) closed coffins for a night of Gothic pensiveness . . . or whatever.
