On a sunny summer day there might be no better place in Berlin for an afternoon than spending it here sitting under 130-year-old chestnut trees while enjoying a view of Berlin's Chancellery and the Spree River. Locals sip Berliner Weisse and watch the small boats chug along the Spree River. This beer garden is a Berlin tradition, dating from its foundation in 1685. After the wall came tumbling down and Germany's seat of government was revived, this place was restored and reopened. Main courses range from 17€ to 20€.
