Don't you love the name? The bar honors one of Hollywood's most gay-friendly actresses as well as the Greenwich Village bar where the gay revolution was launched. The atmosphere is so congenial and laid-back that straights, in addition to gays and lesbians, frequent its easy-going loungy atmosphere in the central Mitte district. The friendly owners are from Australia, and the room is filled with comfortable, cozy couches. On some occasions, the bar sponsors theme nights honoring gay and lesbian icons, with the odd DJ or DJane. The bartender makes the best strawberry daiquiris in town, and those martinis are extra dry (stirred, not shaken). Open Sunday to Thursday 8pm to 2am, Friday and Saturday 8pm to 4am. Happy hour is Monday to Thursday 8 to 9:30pm.
