Fans of Antonio Miró (called the Calvin Klein of Spain) are checking into Bilbao's first boutique hotel. Just steps from the Guggenheim, it offers old-fashioned European service but with an idiosyncratic 21st-century decor. With its black carpeted floors and black marble bathrooms, it is rather minimalist but elegant. It effectively uses light to create a cozy ambience or places white-velvet curtains in unexpected places, such as a bathroom. Rooms are decorated in a minimalist style -- and come in a wide range of sizes from standard doubles to deluxe suites. In the Bar Miró international art collectors from all over the world meet to listen to occasional live jazz.
