Sheraton Bilbao Hotel

This hotel stands on the site of the former headquarters of the shipping industry in Bilbao. In honor of that role, the architect, Ricardo Legorreta, built this huge building to evoke an ocean liner of tomorrow. He said he was inspired by the work of Eduardo Chillida (1920-2002), a Basque sculptor. Often filled with art lovers, the public rooms of the hotel are decorated with a stunning collection of modern art as well as Spanish ship models. In the heart of the business district, the hotel offers midsize to spacious bedrooms furnished in a luxurious style, with all the comforts including marble bathtubs. The bedroom views are panoramic, though the hotel doesn't approach the charm of the Carlton or even the Grand Hotel Domine Bilbao.
