Nightlife

Like many of Brittany's seaside towns, Dinard has a casino, Le Casino Barrière, 4 bd. du Président-Wilson (tel. 02-99-16-30-30). It's liveliest from Easter to late October, when all its facilities, including a room for roulette and blackjack, are open. The rest of the year, only the slot machines operate. Hours for the slots are Sunday through Thursday from 10am to 3am, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 4am. Admission to the slot machines is free. Also on the premises is La Brasserie, a bar and bistro that's open year-round except for 2 weeks in February and 2 weeks in October. An alternative (not within the casino) is Le Metro-Dôme, Le Haut-Chemin (tel. 02-99-46-46-46), a nightclub and disco that has earned the loyalty of many residents thanks to a good selection of wine and an amiable ambience. It lies on the outskirts of town on the road to St-Malo.

In the evenings from June to September, the promenade du Clair-de-Lune attracts a huge crowd of strollers for the musique-et-lumière, when the buildings and flowers along the promenade are illuminated and musical groups of just about every ilk -- from rock to blues to jazz -- perform.
