This contemporary and large downtown hotel features understated styling, polished wainscoting, carpeting, and the discreet use of marble, though it still feels a bit sterile and stuffy. This hotel is nicely situated near the Citadel and restaurants and is linked to much of the rest of downtown via underground passageways; parking is beneath the hotel. The hotel's Gio restaurant on the first floor features contemporary bistro styling, with a zippy menu to match: Dinner options have included Kobe burgers, crab club sandwiches, stuffed chicken, Thai noodles, elk (!) tenderloin, grilled tuna, steak frites, and haddock in an almond-butter sauce. If you're in town on a Sunday, an attractive and popular Sunday brunch is served at the hotel's Terrace restaurant for C$30 per person -- reservations are required.
