Frommer's Review
This contemporary and large downtown hotel features understated styling, polished wainscoting, carpeting, and the discreet use of marble; everything was renovated in 2000, though it stills feels a bit sterile and stuffy. In any case, expect modern and comfortably appointed rooms, most with balconies and all with a selection of complimentary tea and coffee, coffeemakers, and hair dryers. This hotel is nicely situated near the Citadel and restaurants and is linked to much of the rest of downtown via underground passageways; parking is beneath the hotel. The hotel's Gio restaurant on the first floor features contemporary bistro styling, with a zippy menu to match: Recent dinner options have included Kobe burgers, crab club sandwiches, Thai noodles, grilled tuna, steak frites, and haddock in almond-butter sauce. An attractive Sunday brunch at the hotel's Terrace restaurant is C$30 (US$27/£15) per person.

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
