Located across the harbor from Halifax and a 2-minute walk to frequent ferry service to downtown, the Maranova Suites is one of the better options for travelers on a ginger-ale budget. Housed in a modern concrete building, it features rooms that are large and tidy. All guest rooms have sitting areas, kitchenettes, and balconies, and two penthouse suites come with full kitchens. Don't expect anything fancy; the rooms are basic, simple, and clean. Some have wonderful views of the harbor -- ask when you book.
