Frommer's Review
Here is an opportunity to experience life in one of the great old inns of East Anglia. Built by a wool merchant in 1540, this is Long Melford's finest hotel and its best-preserved building, with lots of improvements and modernizations added over the years. The rooms here are a mix of the old and the new. The interior and exterior of the hotel have been refurbished, and the beds are usually king-size or twins. Bathrooms are well kept, with a tub and shower. A medieval weavers' gallery and an open hearth with Elizabethan brickwork have been incorporated into the hotel's design.
