Frommer's Review
A 10-minute walk from the city, this interesting hotel feels like a basic B&B, though a total refurbishment in 2002 gave it a better look and a further revamp in 2006 improved it even more. From the outside, it resembles a terrace building, but inside it's a maze of corridors and rooms. The staff is very friendly. The least expensive economy rooms have two single beds, a wardrobe, and a hand basin; there's barely enough room to swing a backpack, and the bathroom is down the hallway. Standard rooms are light and spacious, with double or twin beds as well as en-suite bathrooms. The 15 or so quad rooms have double beds and two singles and are great for families. There is a 24-hour reception desk, free luggage-storage facilities, and free use of the safety deposit boxes. A cooked breakfast costs A$15 (US$14/£6.75) extra. Check the hotel's website for really good deals.
Facilities:
2 restaurants; tour desk; guest laundry; same-day dry cleaning

| 0 stars | Frommer's Recommended | |
| 1 stars | Frommer's Highly Recommended | |
| 2 stars | Frommer's Very Highly Recommended | |
| 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
