Planning a Trip

Getting There

In 2005, the French railways, SNCF, reactivated an antique rail line stretching between Grasse (the perfume capital) and Cannes, linking the hamlet of Mouans-Sartoux en route. The village of Mouans-Sartoux lies only 457m (1,500 ft.) from the center of Mougins. Rail service costs 2.60€ one-way from either Cannes or Grasse to Mouans-Sartoux. There are several trains per day. For more information call tel. 36-35, or visit www.voyages-sncf.com. Société Tam (tel. 08-00-06-01-06) runs buses between Cannes and Grasse. Bus no. 600 stops in Val-de-Mougins, a 10-minute walk from the center of Mougins. One-way fares from either Cannes or Grasse cost 1.25€. Given the complexities of a bus transfer from Cannes, it's a lot easier just to pay 22€ to 30€ for a taxi to haul you and your luggage north from Cannes.

However, the best way to get to Mougins is to drive. From Nice, follow E80/A8 west, then cut north on Route 85 into Mougins. From Cannes, head north of the city along N85. From La Napoule-Plage, head east toward Cannes on N7, then north at the turnoff to Mougins up in the hills.
