Frommer's Review
There is no more tranquil oasis in Nerja than this little inn, one of our favorite stopovers along the coast -- and it's very affordable as well. A boutique hotel of charm and sophistication, Carabeo lies in the old sector of town in a typical Andalusian house, but is also within an easy walk of the center and a 5-minute walk to a good beach. Taste and care have gone into the comfortable furnishings, and the place is filled with antiques and original art. The bedrooms are generally spacious, each with a small bathroom with a tub/shower combo. Each is individually furnished, with well-chosen fabrics -- in all, the British owners have created a rather homelike feel. The five nicest rooms open onto views of the sea. These sea-view bedrooms also contain a terrace large enough to shelter sun beds and a small table for breakfast. There's even a good restaurant on-site, with a contemporary Mediterranean cuisine that uses regional products, especially the fresh catch of the day. Children under 12 not accepted at the hotel.
