Hotel Vila Ariston

Attention to detail is evident in this butter-yellow hotel 15 minutes from Trg Ante Starcevica, Osijek's main shopping square. The English-speaking staff is eager to please and rooms are oversize with private balconies. Marble shines and parquet wood floors gleam in every corner of the building. The hotel is located around the corner from the train station, which is convenient, but it's a shame that the tram tracks run less than 9m (30 ft.) from the hotel's front door, making noise an issue. It's also too bad that the hotel's location takes it out of the riverfront action, and that the owner didn't think to put in an elevator when he built the three-story Ariston in 2006. But, if you don't mind a little exercise (or a tram ride), and if you want a classy room with comfort and luxury at a moderate price, the Vila Ariston is the place for you.
