Frommer's Review
While the Wickaninnish and other coastal lodges show you the wild, stormy west-facing side of Tofino, the Red Crow displays the kinder, subtler beauty on the peninsula's east side. By the sheltered waters of Jensen Bay, this pleasant Cape Cod-style home sits in 2.8 secluded hectares (7 acres) of old-growth forest. Two rooms are in the lower level of the house (with private entrances), opening out onto a fabulous view of the bay -- perhaps best seen from the inn's outdoor hot tub. Rooms here are large and pleasant, with queen- or king-size beds and 1920s-style furnishings. In addition, there's a charming two-bedroom garden cottage with full kitchen. Come here for the wildlife viewing (eagles, seals, and shorebirds), and stay for the breakfasts -- the innkeeper is a professional chef. Guests have free use of canoes to explore offshore islands.
