If you're coming to Ucluelet to fish -- or even if you're not -- the Canadian Princess Resort is an enjoyable and high spirited place to stay. You can lodge either on land in standard hotel-style rooms or in traditional bunk-roomed cabins onboard the Canadian Princess, a former survey ship permanently moored adjacent to the hotel in Ucluelet's central Boat Basin. Hotel accommodations are very comfortable, while the ship cabins are authentically snug, with the toilet and shower down the hall. Also aboard the ship are a fine dining restaurant and two lounges all with charming maritime decor. The resort focuses on fishing trips out into the Pacific -- each day, cabin cruisers set out on guided fishing trips; gear is provided.
