Planning a Trip

Getting There -- The best way to reach Rocamadour is by car. From Bordeaux, travel east along N89 to Brive-la-Gaillarde, connect to N205 east into Cressensac, and continue on N140 south to Rocamadour.

Rocamadour and neighboring Padirac share a train station, Gare de Rocamadour-Padirac, that isn't really convenient to either -- it's 4km (2 1/2 miles) east of Rocamadour on N140. Trains arrive infrequently from Brive in the north and Capdenac in the south. For train information and schedules, call tel. 08-92-35-35-35. Bus service in and out of town is so infrequent it's almost nonexistent.

Visitor Information -- The town maintains two separate tourist offices in the Hôtel de Ville, rue Roland-le-Preux (tel. 05-65-33-62-59), and another well-signposted branch office within l'Hospitalet, in the old town (tel. 05-65-33-22-00; fax 05-65-33-22-01; www.rocamadour.com).
