This little-known, old-fashioned restaurant is quintessentially Chilean, and they specialize in wild game entrees such as boar, venison, and pheasant. The Picada started out as that, a picada, Chile-speak for a restaurant that serves simple, inexpensive meals, but its popularity prompted the owners to break out the tablecloths and open a full-service restaurant. Located within a handsome antique home with just a tiny sign by the door to orient you, the uniqueness of this establishment draws politicians and businessmen at lunch and families on weekends, making it a good place to people-watch. The restaurant is located on the other side of the Panamericana Highway and far from the Metro, so take a cab -- about a 5-minute drive from Plaza de Armas outside of rush hour.
