A Santiago classic for piping-hot empanadas and sandwiches, El Rápido is so-called because your order arrives immediately after you place it. The only place to chow down is at a stand-up bar, the reason why locals stop in here for a speedy snack, not a meal. There's a lot of local character in this joint, and their empanadas, especially the meat pino empanadas, are fried to crunchy perfection yet juicy on the inside. Located next door to the Pre-Columbian Museum.
