Frommer's Review
It calls itself a cafe, but this eatery is much more than that. Warm and inviting during colder months, with rough-hewn wood interiors and a floor-to-ceiling wine rack boasting excellent varieties, when the weather heats up you can't beat their outdoor seating for dining on simple yet surprisingly good food and catching a few rays. This is one of the only restaurants in Santiago that serves a brunch buffet (Sat, Sun, and holidays 10am-5pm) with cold meats and seafood, quiches, salads, and the cafe's outstanding cakes and pastries. The menu focuses on meats, seafood, stews, and sandwiches prepared with Patagonian-style recipes; their lamb is especially good. On weekdays there is a fixed-price lunch from noon to 4pm for $9 (£4.50). This restaurant fills up quickly during the lunch hour, so arrive early or late. My only caveat with this cafe is that service can be frustratingly absent-minded and slow.
