Set in the large but cozy dining room of a brick-built house that's at least a century old, this family-run restaurant offers one of the best dining values in Santiago. There's only one option here: a two-course fixed-price menu of different roasts and filets. Veal cutlets, either breaded in the "Milanese" style, or with cheese in the "Parmigiana" style, are enduringly popular, as are the pastas (especially cannelloni stuffed with a form of ricotta cheese). Filet steak served a la plancha (grilled) and pork chops are also good. Don't expect glamour, as that's not what this place sells. Instead, you'll get generous portions of rib-sticking food more reasonably priced than virtually anywhere else.
