Frommer's Review
One of the top bed-and-breakfasts in the South Pacific islands, this gorgeous 1920s-vintage colonial home sits atop a ridge in the expensive Tamavua suburb. You will enjoy a stunning view while having breakfast or lounging on the covered veranda, which overlooks a ridge-top swimming pool and the south coast of Viti Levu. The choice room is appropriately named Harbor View. Another upper room, the Nukulau, looks eastward across Laucala Bay to little Nukulau Island on the far-off reef. The three other rooms in the main house lack a view. Four more private and spacious "lodge" units in a building a few steps from the main house have kitchens and private balconies with sea views. Many guests here are business types, and this is a safe, friendly place for women traveling alone. Call for directions if you're driving, or take a taxi from downtown for F$3.50 (US$2.30/£1.20). Barking neighborhood dogs can disturb the peace at night, but that's common in residential areas throughout Fiji since their job is to protect against burglars.

Laundry service; outdoor pool
