Watersports are offered on and around the lake, including water-skiing, water parachuting, sail boarding, giant water slides, kayak trips, and more. Call the Tiberia Tourist Information Office for information.
Beaches -- The Blue Beach charges NIS 28 ($7/£3.50) for the use of its lake facilities and a beach-chair rental.
The Quiet Beach's NIS 26 ($6.50/£3.25) fee includes all the swimming facilities and is open daily (in season) from 8am to 6 or 7pm. The Ganei Hammat Swimming Beach, opposite the Ganei Hammat Hotel, near the Tiberias Hot Springs, is open daily from 9am to 5pm. It offers deck chairs, showers, and a snack kiosk. Admission is NIS 24 ($6/£3). The Gai Beach, 1km (1/2 mile) south of town, beyond the Galei Kinneret Hotel, has a water park with incredible slides and a fine beach with all the requisite facilities; it charges a NIS 50 to NIS 60 ($13-$15/£6.25-£7.50) admission fee. Sironit Beach, also south of town, is open daily (in season) from 8am to 5pm, April through October. There's also a municipal beach (NIS 18/$4.50/£2.25 fee) south of Sironit Beach, open daily (in season) from 9am to 5pm.
Horseback Riding -- In the countryside around the lake, you can join groups for trail riding in the Galilee; call Vered HaGalil Guest Farm (tel. 04/693-5785; www.veredhagalil.co.il). Vered HaGalil offers beautiful (and beautifully tended) horses for everything from well-planed range riding to 15-minute rides for kids.
