Arriving -- About a dozen trains per day leave from both Tours and Blois. The trip from Tours takes 20 minutes and costs 5€ one-way; from Blois, it takes 20 minutes and costs 7€ one-way. Several conventional trains a day leave from Paris’s Gare d’Austerlitz (trip time: about 2 hr., 15 min.), and several TGVs depart from the Gare Montparnasse, with a change to a regular train at St-Pierre-des-Corps, next to Tours (trip time: 1 hr., 30 min.). If you prefer to travel by bus, Fil Vert Buses (www.tourainefilvert.com), which operates out of Gare Routière in Tours, just across from the railway station, runs about six to eight buses every day between Tours and Amboise. The one-way trip takes about 45 minutes and costs 2.40€.
