Getting There -- Six trains per day arrive from Granada taking 2 hours and costing 6.10€ ($9.80) one-way; four trains pull in from Seville, taking 2 1/2 hours and costing 12€ ($19) one-way. Anywhere from 9 to 12 buses per day make the run from Málaga. The trip takes 45 minutes and costs 4.50€ ($7.20) one-way. There are also two buses per day from Córdoba taking 1 1/4 hours and costing 8.50€ ($14) one-way; five per day from Granada taking 2 hours and costing 7.25€ ($12) one-way; and five per day from Seville taking 2 1/4 hours and costing 11€ ($18) one-way.

Getting Around -- You can walk around the center of Antequera, but you may need public transportation to get from the train station to your hotel or to sights in the outlying areas. Taxi Radio Antequera (tel. 95-284-55-30) services the area, with most fares averaging 5€ ($8). Taxis meet all arriving trains and buses.

Visitor Information -- For information, go to the Tourist Office, Plaza de San Sebastián 7 (tel. 95-270-25-05; www.antequera.es). From June 15 to September 15, the office is open Monday to Saturday 11am to 2pm and 5 to 8pm, Sunday 11am to 2pm. In off season, hours are Monday to Saturday 10:30am to 1:30pm and 4 to 7pm, Sunday 11am to 2pm.
