A boutique hotel surrounded by boutiques, the DeBrett has its central location in its favor and a whole lot more. Like sassy style. The owners have lovingly preserved the building's Art Deco roots and filled it with colorful, contemporary furnishings that have retro flair (Mid-Century Modern-style arm chairs, candy striped rugs, groovy lamps). We especially like the loft suites with the bedroom upstairs, a living room below and a lovely circular staircase connecting the two. Comfort hasn't been neglected, either. Along with cushy beds, some serious insulation has been done to keep the rooms pin-drop quiet (a feat in this bustling neighborhood). On the premises are a red-hot bar and an equally good restaurant.
