Tour de l’Horloge

Built atop Gallo Roman fortifications, this 15th-century tower is a sight to behold thanks to its elegant turrets and Astronomical Clock, whose mechanism has been in use since 1483 and which shows the time and moon phases. The Tourist Office runs occasional guided visits, but you’ll more than likely have to admire it yourself from the outside. And so take note of the clock’s hands: the first is a solar hand (taking 24 hours to go around); the second is a lunar hand. The only time the hands should align is a noon when there’s a new moon and at midnight during a full moon.
