Getting There

The nearest important rail junction, receiving trains from Madrid and most of Andalusia, is the Estación Linares-Baeza (tel. 90-224-02-02; www.renfe.es), 14km (8 1/2 miles) west of Baeza's center. There is one train per day from Córdoba and two per day from Madrid arriving at Estación Linares-Baeza.

18 daily buses arrive in Baeza from Ubeda; the ride is 15 minutes long and costs 1.10€ ($1.80) one-way. From Jaén, there are 15 buses per day (trip time: 45 min.), costing 3.60€ ($5.80) one-way. For more information, call tel. 90-242-22-42.

To reach Baeza from Jaén, follow Route N-321 northeast for 45km (28 miles). The town is 308km (191 miles) south of Madrid.

Visitor Information

The tourist office, at the Plaza del Pópulo s/n 23440 (tel. 95-374-04-44; www.andalucia.org), is open in winter Monday to Friday 9:30am to 2:30pm and 4 to 6pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 1pm. Summer hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 3:15pm and 4 to 7pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 2pm.
