Arriving
By Train -- The station is on Avenida Alcaides de Faria (tel. 25/381-12-43 or 808/208-208). To reach Barcelos from Braga, go by train to the town of Nine, from which there is a direct train link into Barcelos, costing 2.60€ one way. Twelve trains a day make the 45-minute trip from Viana do Castelo that costs 2.35€.
By Bus -- The station is on Avenida Dr. Sidónio Pais (tel. 25/381-43-10). Fourteen buses a day arrive from Braga. It's a 50-minute trip that costs 1.80€.
By Car -- From Braga, follow N103 due west.
Visitor Information
The Barcelos Tourist Office is at Largo de Porta Nova -- Torre de Menagem (tel. 25/381-18-82; www.rtam.pt). In summer, it's open Monday to Friday 9:30am to 6pm, Saturday 10am to 5:30pm, and Sunday 10am to 1pm.
