Perched high on its base and looking like an ancient Greek temple, this museum is known for its collection of 19th-century German and French and European Impressionists, including Pissarro, Cezanne, Delacroix, Degas and Van Gogh. The museum also has a large collection of the works of Berlin artist Adolph von Menzel, Caspar David Friedrich, and others representing the Romantic and Classical movements in 19th-century German art.
