Recently renovated with improved lighting and a large dose of digital tablets, this fine arts museum has an impressive collection of works from the 16th to the 20th centuries. While paintings by Perugina, Titian, Rubens, and Veronese grace the walls, the main emphasis here is on the 19th century. Examples from that century’s various movements (Romantic, Barbizon School, Impressionism, and so on), include paintings by Delacroix, Corot, Boudin, and Bordeaux local Rosa Bonheur. The collection eventually spills into the early 20th century, with works by Picasso, Braque, and Zadkine, among others.
