Things To Do in Cieszyn

Begin your exploration on the Polish side at the main square, the Rynek, the center of town life since the 14th century and where you'll find the tourist information office. Most of the buildings on the square date from the 19th century; several fires through the ages, including a devastating inferno in 1789, destroyed the original Gothic and Renaissance houses. From here, walk down the town's main drag, Gebocka, that leads past the town hall and the old market, the Stary Targ, to the castle and eventually to the Most Przyjazni/Most Dru?by (Friendship Bridge) that connects the town's Polish and Czech sides. Once on the Czech side, you can meander along the Olza River or walk down Hlavní Trída to the second tourist information office. From Hlavní, make a left down Pra?ská to find the Nám. CSA (CSA Square) at the center of the Czech side and home to its own town hall.
