In Vino Veritas . . . with a Little Less Alcohol -- Due to the cold winter months Mosel wines have the lowest alcohol content (about 9%) of any white wine in the world. According to the German Wine Institute in Mainz, white wines make up 90% of the region's production, the highest output of any region in Germany. Sixty-five percent of the overall grapes are crisp Rieslings, with Müller-Thurgau coming in a distant second at 15%. Be sure to enjoy them young.
