An inventive, classy vegetarian restaurant on the Western Road strip, Cafe Paradiso does such magnificent things without meat that even passionate carnivores will find plenty to love. Start with buffalo ricotta tortellini with citrus butter, before tucking into some sweet chile-glazed tofu with pak choi, or a delicious celeriac and blue cheese dauphinoise, served with smoked tomatoes. Desserts are heavenly; if it’s on the menu, try the dark chocolate pave (like a cake made with very thick mousse) served with popcorn ice cream. The wine list is both excellent and reasonably priced. If you can’t quite afford dinner here, come before 6:30pm on Monday to Friday for the early bird menu (€23 for two courses, €29 for three). For those who prefer to roll (or should that be bounce) straight from table to bed, they also have guestrooms for €220 per couple, per night.
