This friendly, informal downtown restaurant serves Irish-inflected bistro food. It’s a let-down-your-hair kind of place, with the menu consisting mostly of traditional, unpretentious cooking, done very well. Think sophisticated comfort food: apricot-stuffed chicken with roast potatoes, or baked cod with carrot and swede (rutabaga) boxty—a traditional kind of potato pancake. Try the delicious marmalade and vanilla bread and butter pudding for dessert. The early-bird menu is a deal at €25 for three courses (Mon–Thurs 5–7pm, Sun 1–7pm). Gourmet sandwiches are served at lunchtime.
