Corozal Town is a pretty quiet place. Continue on to Mexico, or your next destination in Belize, for more of a party scene. But if you want to meet some locals, fellow travelers, or expatriates, you’ll fine them hanging at such bars as Tony’s Inn & Beach Resort or any of the new places popping up along the southern waterfront, like the Woodhouse Bistro on 1st Ave. (tel. 636-0209). On Friday and Saturday nights, you can also try the bar at Corozo Blue's or Scotty’s Bar and Grill (41 1st Avenue) which hosts live music and karaoke nights.

If you’re in the mood to try your luck, head north of town to the free zone and hit the tables at the Princess Casino (tel. 423-7652) or the Las Vegas Hotel and Casino (tel. 423-7600), the self-proclaimed largest of its kind in Central America.
