Wexford Wildfowl Reserve
This national nature reserve is part of the unfortunately named North Slob, adjacent to Wexford Harbour, 5km (3 miles) east of Wexford Town. About 10,000 Greenland white-fronted geese—more than one-third of the world’s population—winter here, as do brent geese, Bewick’s swans, and wigeons. The reserve has a visitor center, an informational film, an exhibition hall, and an observation tower and blinds.
