Getting There & Getting Around
By Car and/or Boat -- Getting to Cres and Lošinj is easy if you are driving or taking the ferry; and a little more complicated if you are traveling some other way. The shortest ferry crossing is from Brestova on the mainland to Porozina at the northern end of Cres, though you may have a long wait before boarding in peak season. There is another crossing from Valbiska on Krk to Merag farther down on Cres. Contact Jadrolinja (www.jadrolinija.hr) or Lošinjska Plovidba (www.lnp.hr) for schedules and routes.
By Bus -- There are several daily buses from Veli Lošinj to Cres Town, and all stop at Mali Lošinj on the way. Buses also run to each of the islands’ main ferry ports —Merag, Porozina, and Valbiska—and to Rijeka. For details and schedules, contact any tourist office on the island or the main bus station in Rijeka.
Local Buses -- Several buses daily run the 3km (2 mile) stretch between Mali Lošinj and Veli Lošinj, though this also makes a pleasant walk.
