Hôtel Wilson

This former coaching inn, dating back to the 17th century, is the ideal stop for drivers, as it’s on the southeast edge of Dijon (so you won’t have to brave taking your car into the historical center), yet you’re just a 15-minute walk from all the action. Rooms have oodles of character with exposed beams, stone walls and Louis Philippe and Louis XIII furniture, while the bathrooms have been renovated in white contemporary style, many with pops of red. In the evening, if you’re feeling flush, book ahead at the fab restaurant of chef Tomofumi Unchimura,  next door.
