Arriving — Dinan has an SNCF train station, but service is infrequent. The trip from Rennes, with one stop, takes about 1 hour and costs 11€-15€. From St-Malo it takes about as long and costs 11€. Most rail passengers just transfer to one of the buses from the train stations for connection to Dinan. The trip time is almost the same, but tickets are 2.50€. Special Events — One of the biggest medieval festivals in the world, the Fêtes des Remparts (www.fete-remparts-dinan.com) is held the third weekend of July in odd-numbered years. Mingle amongst the knights and maidens and enjoy authentic street entertainment, food, and crafts. Take in an archery competition or even a jousting match.
