This is a nicely designed aquarium, although it’s quite small, given the ticket price. As is the norm at such places, it's home to lots of sea critters in creatively designed tanks. You can walk through an aquarium tunnel with fish swimming above and around you, and members of the young staff carry around live lobsters, crabs, starfish, and other “inner space” creatures for kids to touch and pet. The aquarium also has some super-cute Antarctic Gentoo penguins. This compact, hands-on, interactive place makes a good reward for your kids for being so patient while you took pictures of a pile of rocks back up the road. You get a 10% discount if you buy tickets online.
