This cafe/self-service joint right next door to Maria Grammatico's pastry shop is a decent choice for those who don't have time for a full sit-down meal. It's pricey (this IS a very touristy area), but fresh Sicilian and national dishes are prepared daily with a wide variety of choices from pastas, rice salads, frittatas, couscous, meats, and fish. Sandwiches and sliced pizza are also available, as well as the ubiquitous rice balls. Options for vegetarians are plentiful. Dining is either outside (on the street in quaint wooden booths) or indoors (upstairs).
