Getting There

Fuenterrabía doesn't have a train station, but is serviced by the station in nearby Irún (tel. 90-224-02-02; www.renfe.es). Buses depart Irún's Plaza de San Juan for Fuentarrabía at 10- to 15-minute intervals. Irún is the end of the line for trains in northern Spain. East of Irún, you must board French trains.

Buses run every 20 minutes from Plaza Guipúzcoa in San Sebastián to Fuenterrabía, 30 to 45 minutes away. Call tel. 94-364-13-02 for information. By car, take A-8 east to the French border, turning toward the coast at the exit sign for Fuenterrabía.

Visitor Information

The tourist office, at Calle Javier Ugarte 6 (tel. 94-364-54-58; www.bidasoaturismo.com), is open July to August, Monday 4 to 8pm and Tuesday to Friday 10am to 8pm; off-season hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 1:30pm and 4 to 6:30pm, Saturday 10am to 2pm and 3 to 8pm, and Sunday 10am to 2pm.
