Getting There -- Connections are awkward when traveling to Glastonbury by public transportation. No direct train service runs to Glastonbury. You can, however, take a train from London's Paddington Station to Bristol's Temple Meads Train Station (trip time: 1 hr., 40 min.), where you can catch a bus into Glastonbury. Buses run twice an hour from this train station; trip time is 1 1/4 hours.

One National Express bus a day (no. 403) leaves London's Victoria Coach Station at 7pm and arrives in Glastonbury at 10:50pm. For more information and schedules, call tel. 0871/781-81-81 or visit www.nationalexpress.com.

If you're driving, take the M4 west from London, and then cut south on the A4, via Bath, to Glastonbury.

Visitor Information -- The Tourist Information Centre is at the Tribunal, 9 High St. (tel. 01458/832954; www.glastonburytic.co.uk). It's open October to March, Sunday to Thursday 10am to 4pm, and Friday and Saturday 10am to 4:30pm; April to September hours are Sunday to Thursday 10am to 5pm, Friday and Saturday till 5:30pm.
